The ultimate property trading game gets a 21st century makeover in Monopoly : Here and Now Limited Edition from Tikgames and RealArcade, a downloadable version of the board game of the same name.

In case you haven't seen this new limited edition version of Monopoly : Here and Now Limited Edition, Monopoly : Here and Now Limited Edition is a modern makeover of America's favorite board game but with places and prices that better reflect today's market (hence "here and now"). For example, each player starts off the new game with $15 million dollars instead of $1500 as in the original game. Pewter pieces are cell phones, McDonalds' French fries and laptops. Hot property includes Times Square in New York City and Boston's Fenway Park. The four railroad spots are now airports, including LAX, JFK and Chicago's O'Hare. A Community Chest card may read "Your computer network gets hit by a virus. Pay $100,000." You get the idea. But the goal of the game still remains the same: buy, sell and trade well-known U.S. properties to win the game.

This new digital version looks and plays just like the Monopoly : Here and Now Limited Edition board game, but is brought to life with computer animation, sound effects and music, and handy extras such as a History area to show you all the moves made by all players. Big buttons are prominently displayed to Build, Sell, Mortgage, Unmortgage and Trade. Also, it just takes a click to refresh yourself on the official rules. As with the board game, you can play with friends beside you on the same computer ("hot seat" mode), but unfortunately, there's no option for an online multiplayer, which is odd, as an older CD-ROM version of the game by Hasbro offered this.

Monopoly fans will immediately fall in love with the high production values for this game; each pewter piece is animated, therefore the cell phone flips open and closes (and rings!) as it moves about the board, while the jet airplane whooshes across the properties. Land on the "Go To Jail" spot and a flashing police car drives around the board and drags you behind bars on the opposite corner of the board. Even the die (which is plural for dice, seriously) look great as it rolls out onto the screen. Buy some property and money floats out of your wallet towards the bank.

The jazzy music is good, but too bad there's only one song. Another beef: a good casual game can be played for five minutes or three hours, but while you can certainly save your progress in this game, it's not the kind you want to get into unless you have some time to spare.

Shortcomings aside, Monopoly : Here and Now Limited Edition is a great game for fans of the board game - but now you can play against a virtual opponent on a laptop at 30,000 feet. Also, not having played this board game version, I admit paying $250,000 for landing on the Atlanta Hartsfeild airport, owned by the computer A.I., proved a little disconcerting at first. That is, until I realized I had $20 mil in the bank. Paying $60,000 for landing on Chicago's Wrigley Field was a little more palatable.

Find the Penguin King!

To find the Penguin King you must first start mission 4 for the Scourge/undead. In The begining you will notice there is a fork in the road to your left. Take the most bottom path. After you have started going down the most bottom path continue to go to the left until you reach a tunnel ( which really isn't a tunnel because you can't go through it ). On the other side of the tunnel is the Penguin King. To get to the Penguin King go up till you are at the edge of the cliff that blocks you from the king. Then start trailing down the opposite side of which you came up the cliff to get to a patch trees. Make your way through the trees. Once you reach a certain point in the patch of trees the gates Leading to the Penguin King open and the Penguin King lays down a Ring of protection+4 for all of your hard work. Make your way into the area to grab the Item. ( Note: you could just put in the ''iseedeadpeople'' cheat with no quotes so you could see exactly where the King is )

Secret Area: Tomes of Ancient

On the second level of the Night Elf campaign there is a secret area containing two tomes of intelligence and one tome of strength along with two mana runes. Just kill all the Makrura's in the top left hand corner of the map. Then to get the tomes use Maiev's blink ability to get on top of the wall at the northernmost part of the base. ''Secret Area Tomes of Ancients Discovered'' will flash up on the screen. Now just grab the tomes.

Secret Areas in Night Elf Chapter 4

In the Night Elf Chapter 4 (Wrath of the Betrayer), there are 4 secret areas that Maiev could go into using her blink ability. The first one is below your base, just north east of the southernmost Naga base. It has a statue that looks like a keeper of the grove hero. The message ''Secret Area Found'' will show up if you correctly found it. The second one is at the center of the map. It has a large gate that can be destroyed, and you will battle an infernal there. This is also the only secret area where you can go to without using the blink ability. The third is a garden just east of the area where you finish the mission. It has a critter named ''Grank the Rat'' that cannot be destroyed. The last one is at the southwestern most part of the map. It has a level 1 pandaren at a platform with the message ''Pandaren drinking area'' appearing if you are at the correct place. The pandaren will leave, leaving behind a treasure box.

Secret Island

This secret island is in Chapter 1: Rise Of The Naga in the Sentinel Campaign. To find this secret island you have to go near the coast where the burning boats are and note the patch of land across the water. You then use Maiev's Blink skill to teleport her over to this island where you will engage with one of Illidan's Naga. Destroy the Naga (Using you Fan of Knives makes it a lot easier) and you will earn a Rune of Mana and a Tome of Strength.

Secret Shop
Undead Mission 1

On the left side of the topmost town on Arthas' side of the map there is an opening in the trees big enough for one person. It's hidden by the branches and leaves. Through the path you'll find a shop that takes the form of a villiage boy named Timmy who sells Ice Shards to summon Ice Revenants.

In game, click on one of your Troll Witch Doctor units many times. Eventually after many clicks, voices and sounds will start to be heard being very similar to the television show Iron Chef.

Wirt's other leg
In the last mission of the Alliance campaign - Chapter 6 (Lord of Outland) - you can slay Diablo's The Butcher (an abomination) who drops an item called "wirt's other leg". This is a reference to Blizzard's own Diablo 2 item "Wirt's leg" which in turn is a reference to the boy Wirt from Diablo. The item itself is useless in The Frozen Throne.

Wallhacks - Which allow the player to see through walls. These work by altering the display driver to display objects that are normally obscured, or altering game textures to transparent ones. The only objects seen on the hackers screen are those close by. The server will not send you characters of the whole map, so you can not see across the whole map.

Speedhacks - Which give the player increased speed. These work by sending false synchronization data to servers.

No recoil - Which keeps the players gun shooting straight on the y axis without a kickback by removing gun physics. No spread is used to make a players gun shoot straight along the x axis.

Aimbots - Which helps the player aim at enemies. These work by moving the player's view to anticipate an enemy's position.

ESP - Which shows textual information about the enemy, such as, health, name, and distance, and also information about weapons lying around the map, which could be missed without the hack.

Barrel hack - Which shows a line that depicts where the enemy is looking.

Anti-flash and anti-smoke - Which remove the flashbang and smoke grenade effect. This branched off the wall hack.

COUNTER-STRIKE - GAMEPLAY

Counter-Strike is a first-person shooter in which players join either the terrorist or counter-terrorist team (or becomes a spectator). Each team attempts to complete their mission objective and/or eliminate the opposing team. Each round starts with the two teams spawning simultaneously, usually at opposite ends of the map from each other.

A player can choose to play as one of eight different default character models (four for each side, although Counter-Strike: Condition Zero added two extra models, bringing the total to ten). Players are generally given a few seconds before the round begins (known as "freeze time") to prepare and buy equipment, during which they cannot attack or walk/move (a player can still take damage, having the player drop from a certain height during freeze time was the only way somebody could control the players starting "HP"). They can return to the buy area within a set amount of time to buy more equipment (some custom maps included neutral "buy zones" that could be used by both teams).

Once the round has ended, surviving players retain their equipment for use in the next round; players who were killed begin the next round with the basic default starting equipment. Standard monetary bonuses are awarded for winning a round, losing a round, killing an enemy, being the first to instruct a hostage to follow, rescuing a hostage or planting the bomb.

The scoreboard displays team scores in addition to statistics for each player: name, kills, deaths, and ping (in milliseconds). The scoreboard also indicates whether a player is dead, carrying the bomb (on bomb maps), or is the VIP (on assassination maps), although information on players on the opposing team is hidden from a player until his/her death, as this information can be important.

Killed players become "spectators" for the duration of the round; they cannot change their names until they spawn (come alive) again, text chat cannot be sent to or received from live players; and voice chat can only be received from live players and not sent to them (unless the cvar sv_alltalk is set to 1).

Spectators are generally able to watch the rest of the round from multiple selectable views, although some servers disable some of these views to prevent dead players from relaying information about living players to their teammates through alternative media (most notably voice in the case of Internet cafes and Voice over IP programs such as TeamSpeak or Ventrilo). This technique is known as "ghosting".

There are three unique races in Starcraft which are Terran, Protoss and Zerg.

STARCRAFT : TERRAN

In the distant future, a small group of human exiles have been doomed to fight for survival on the edge of the galaxy. Through military strength, espionage, and deceit, a unified Terran government has maintained an uneasy peace, but as resources and fuel run short the Confederate nations find themselves looking towards the rich worlds of their alien neighbors, the enigmatic Protoss. To further complicate matters, it seems that a previously unknown species - the Zerg - have entered Protoss space and are destroying everything in their path. Either race will stop at nothing to insure the survival of their species. The time for war has come.

Terrans are masters of mobility and versatility. Using converted industrial vehicles and mobile bases, they move from world to world, pillaging as they go. Their military consists of both "resocialized" criminals and elite soldiers.

Strength, pride, discipline, and a love for freedom have enabled the Confederate Marine Corps and Colonial Fleet to defend Confederate interests along the Galactic Rim for more than two centuries. Marines come from all walks of life, but they are united in their devotion to the preservation of the Confederate way of life. The Corps offers countless opportunities for young men and women to see the sector and gain valuable real world experience. Terran soliders are taught and trained; they are shaped into efficient warriors who garner respect and admiration from their peers. The Corps can even help them work past criminal and/or anti-social tendancies through counseling, drug therapy, and neural resocialization.

Infantry

The brave men and women that make up the Confederate Marine Infantry Corps are the heart of the military. Thanks to the science of neural-resocialization, morale among the Marine Infantry is the highest of any military organization. Recruiting centers are located in most major cities and penal facilities.

Armoured Vehicle Corps

From the versatility of the Goliath Combat Walker to the awe-inspiring power of the Mjolnir Artillery Cannon, the Armored Vehicle Corps provides the Confederate Marines with greater mobility and firepower than infantry alone can provide. Positions are also available for skilled mechanics to join the Vehicle Maintenace Division.

STARCRAFT : PROTOSS

The most ancient and powerful race in the galaxy (or so they believe), the Protoss possess a highly structured society based on the preservation of their way of thinking. Highly intelligent and gifted with great psionic powers, they nevertheless suffer from a certain inflexibility that makes them extremely difficult to work with.

Originally the Protoss were divided into several warring tribes, but they were united by a single Protoss warrior/philosopher, Adun. He is apparently responsible for strengthening the psionic racial link that all Protoss share, and he developed the Khala, a strict religion, philosophy, and social structure. Under the Khala, the Protoss have mostly abandoned their tribal lines and divided into three castes: Khalai, artisans and inventors; Templar, warriors and explorers; and Judicator, administrators and leaders.

Terran dealings with the Protoss have been limited, restricting our knowledge of their abilities and equipment, but we do know that they possess extremely advanced technology, including warp-gate manipulation and energy shield generation. It is only recently that we have made significant progress in learning more about them.

STARCRAFT : ZERG

Ironically, it was partially the fault of the Protoss that the Zerg were created in the first place. Disappointed by their failure on Aiur, the Xel'Naga left the planet and moved across the galaxy again in search of a world on which to conduct their experiments. This time around, they decided, they would concentrate on creating a species that manifested a purity of essence rather than a purity of form. They were more successful than they could have possibly hoped. Choosing a barren ash world named Zerus, the Xel'Naga began to manipulate a small worm-like species that had no real way of interacting physically with the world around it. With the help of the Xel'Naga, the Zerg (which means "those born of Zerus") learned to burrow into the flesh of other animals that were able to survive the harsh conditions on Zerus.

As the Zerg evolved, they learned to symbiotically bond with their hosts and control their actions as well. As the Zerg began to "possess" more and more host creatures, the Xel'Naga noticed something extraordinary. The Zerg were incorporating parts of their hosts' genetic strains and processes into their own DNA codes. With every new generation, the Zerg were changing, borrowing bits and pieces of the creatures they had used to feed. The Xel'Naga also realized that the Zerg were capable of supercharging the evolutionary process so that latent abilities and talents possessed by the hosts could be assimilated by the Zerg in just a few short generations. Made even more powerful by the fact that they instinctively attempted to infest the most intelligent, most evolved races around them, the Zerg began to shape their own bodies with the new genetic strains they had stolen into frightening and formidable new forms - forms that were designed to survive.

The Xel'Naga, remembering that the individualism of the Protoss had been their fatal flaw, decided to give the Zerg what would be their final gift - a collective consciousness. With the creation of this Overmind, the Zerg began to assimilate in a less haphazard way. Once they had consumed a handful of space-faring races, the real problems began.

Just as the Xel'Naga were congratulating themselves on a job well done - they had created a species with an unbelievable purity of essence - the Zerg were realizing the existence of an extremely powerful race with many useful genetic traits: the Xel'Naga. The Overmind quickly launched its new space-capable swarms at the Xel'Naga who were taken completely by surprise. By destroying this godlike race, the Overmind also gained knowledge of the only thing that could stop them - the Protoss.

Consumed by their desire to absorb the most powerful species available to them, the Overmind began to look for a way to overcome the considerable psionic power of the Xel'Nagas' first experiment. On their way to the Protoss home world the swarm discovered the Terrans, a weak race whose latent psychic potential could be assimilated and used to defeat the Protoss. The war that is Starcraft begins.

THE STARCRAFT'S STORY

The year was AD 2499. The Terrans had spread far beyond Earth. In this region at the edge of the galaxy, beyond any contact from the civilized systems, the dregs of Terran society struggled against the elements on a few harsh worlds. The ruthless Terran Confederacy strived to tighten its rule over the scattered colonies.

Seemingly from nowhere, a swarm of unknown creatures descended, settled, and attacked - the Zerg. The Protoss arrived on a mission to wipe out all life on the planet Chau Sara, including the Terrans, in an effort to halt the Zerg infestation.

The plot of the original StarCraft game revolves around the arrival of the Zerg in the Koprulu Sector and their later invasion of the Protoss home world Aiur. After they have destroyed the Confederate colony on Chau Sara, the Zerg are used by the rebel organization Sons of Korhal, which lures them to a number Confederate world using psi-emitters to further their own goals.

After the Confederacy's fall, the Sons of Korhal's leader, Arcturus Mengsk, establishes the Terran Dominion, crowning himself emperor. The Zerg Swarm is, however, closely followed by a Protoss fleet which burns down all worlds the Zerg infest. The leader of the Protoss task force, High Templar Tassadar, later discovers that he can disrupt the Zerg Overmind's control over the Swarm by eliminating his Cerebrate servants with the help of the Dark Templar.

The involvement of the fallen Dark Templar will prove to be fateful; indeed, while slaying the Cerebrate Zasz, the Dark Templar Zeratul briefly comes in psychic contact with the Zerg Overmind, who is then informed of Aiur's location and directs his Swarm towards the Protoss world. The Protoss high authority, the Protoss Conclave, is defeated by the Zerg Swarm, along with a large proportion of all Protoss.

In a desperate attempt to put an end to the Zerg's destruction, Tassadar, Zeratul, and the remaining Protoss unite their strengths with human Jim Raynor and attack the Overmind itself. They succeed in destroying it because Tassadar sacrifices himself, greatly assisting in its destruction. The story of the Starcraft has begun..

DIABLO - CHEATS

Use these cheats to ease playing Diablo!

Duplicate items
Drop an item on the ground. Then walk away a bit. Then click the object and just before the character picks it up, Left Click something in your belt and it will turn into the same object as the one on the ground. It is a bit tricky to click on the belt item so keep on trying until it works. Remember, Left-Click! Anyways, drop any item on the ground, and right click on anything in your inventory as you pick it up to duplicate the item you're picking up. Click on $1, so that you only lose $1 when you do the trick. By the way, you can duplicate piles of $5000!

Duplicate items (another method)
Go into the dungeon drop the item on the ground then leave the dungeon. After you are outside Atl+Tab out of the game. Copy the single_0.sv file to another directory. Go back into the game. Walk back down into the dungeon and pick up your things, now walk back upstairs. Alt+Tab out of the game again and copy the single_0.sv file from the other directory back into the Diablo directory and go back into the game. When you walk down into the dungeon your stuff is laying on the floor. You can't leave duplicates it will erase one of them.

See what sellers have
Have you ever wanted something so bad but couldn't get it? Like a book of stone curse? Go up to anybody who sells you stuff (not Wirt) and see what they have. If you want something they don't have save the game right in front of them. Then load the game and see what they have. I'm not sure if it works with Griswold or Pepin but I'm 100% sure it works with Adria.

Buy any magic book easily
Go to Adria's hut and buy whatever magic item that you desire. Save, and load the game again. Adria will have restocked her items. Note: The old items will no longer be there. Make sure you buy the item that you want the most when it appears before saving and reloading.

Start stronger
After starting a new or saved game play until your character gets to a level status that you want. Save the game and click "New game" Click on your character, then click "OK". When the screen appears again, do not click on "Load Game". Instead, click on "New game" to start with all your stats and items intact from the previous game.

Defeating Zhar The Mad
Walk towards a corner. He will follow and appear in front of you. Trap him in the corner. Hit him every time he appears, since he will be still trapped in the corner. If done correctly, you should not use any energy.

Defeating the Butcher
First, meet up with him in his room. Then, lead him to one of the walls that look like cage walls. Go on the other side of the wall and close the door behind you. Shoot him with a bow or use magic. Since he cannot open doors, he will just stand there. Just keep shooting him until he is defeated. Find the Butcher. Open his door and run away from him. He should follow you. Lead him to a staircase and run around it, but stay close to it. He should follow you in circles around the it. Eventually, after about thirty seconds to a minute, he should get stuck in the staircase. From there, shoot him with magic or a bow. You should also be able to melee attack him. Note: He can get away from it if you go onto the side of the staircase that you need to be on if you were to enter it.

Defeating Diablo
Lure out the lesser monsters a few at a time and kill them. This reduces the number of enemies that come after you. When Diablo comes after you, get your back against a wall. He will not be able to knock you back and you can keep hitting him.

Killing groups of monsters
Get the Fire Wall spell from the Adrea the witch. Make two walls of fire wall, side by side. Run away in the opposite direction of the monsters. If positioned correctly, they will run through the fire walls and be killed.

The Butcher

Reward: The Butcher's Cleaver (+10 to Strength, 4-24 Damage, Durability = 10)
Tip: When preparing for battle with the Butcher, a character's most effective offense is a good defense. Regardless of class, characters should carry a sturdy shield and have at least a 15 or better armor class.

Tristram's Water Supply
Quest Monster: No unique monster
Reward: Ring of Truth (+10 to Hit Points, Absorbs 1 point damage per hit, Resist All 10%)
Tip: Regardless of character class, a good tactic for this quest is moving forward and then walking back, drawing a few creatures in at a time to avoid fighting too many monsters simultaneously.

The Skeleton King
Quest Monster: Skeleton King
Hit Points: 60
Damage: 6-16
Resistance: Fire and Lightning
Immunity: Non-Fire and Lightning Magic, except for Stone Curse and Holy Bolt
Reward: The Undead Crown (Armor Class=8, Life Stealing +5%)
Tip: A Sorcerer should fill his belt with mana potions and use Holy Bolt to kill the Skeleton King and his army. For Warriors or Rogues, blunt objects such as a mace, Morning Star or War Hammer are most effective against the undead, as well as Holy Bolt.

Gharbad the Weak

Reward: Random Magical Item
Tip: The best tip for this quest is to be prepared for Gharbad to betray characters on their third visit. Gharbad lives up to his surname "The Weak," so characters should use their spells or weapon to put a quick end to the deceiver.

Ogden's Sign

Damage: 10-18
Resistance: Lightning
Reward: Harlequin Crest, if the sign is given to Ogden. (+2 to all stats, +7 to Hit Points, +7 to Mana, -3 to Armor Class, -1 to Damage Received)
Tip: To access the stairs down to level five, players must destroy Snotspill and his large number of followers. Spells from a distance such as Lightning or Fire Bolt work well. For hand-to-hand combat, using a blade weapon in the doorway is effective.

The Magic Rock
Quest Monster: No unique monster
Reward: Empyrean Band (+2 to all stats, +20% to Light radius, Fast hit recovery, Absorbs trap damage)
Tip: This object is randomly placed on a pedestal within the catacombs on the fifth level. The monsters guarding the rock are random as well. Be sure to return the rock to Griswald for the magical ring.

Arkaine's Valor
Quest Monster: No unique monster
Reward: Arkaine's Valor (Splint Mail, +25 to Armor Class, +10 to Vitality, Absorbs 3 points damage per hit received, Fastest hit recovery)
Tip: You have to fight your way through plenty of demons to get at the armor. A Sorcerer should use his highest level spell of either Fire or Charged Bolt. Both the Warrior and Rogue will want to close the distance between the creatures, so the demons do not have room to charge

Chamber of Bone
Quest Monster: No unique monster
Reward: Guardian Spell
Tip: Once again, you'll have to battle though hoards of the enemy to get at the spell. Sorcerers should conserve mana by waiting until horned demons are close before firing shots. The Warrior and Rogue should use an edged weapon against the horned demon, but also have a blunt weapon to use against the undead that lurk in the area.

Halls of the Blind
Quest Monster: No unique monster
Reward: Optic amulet (+20% to Light Radius, +20% to Resist Lightning, Absorbs one point of damage per hit, +5 to Magic)
Tip: When fighting the hidden hand-to-hand, try left click attacking once and then moving away. Then once they reappear, left click attack them again.

Zhar the Mad
Quest Monster: Zhar the Mad
Hit Points: 360
Damage: 16-40
Resistance: Fire and Lightning
Immunity: Other Magic (except Stone Curse)
Reward: Random books
Tip: If Zhar becomes maddened and attacks, try to attack him from range with a bow or spells. The Warrior should left click and swing at him only once, then wait for him to disappear. Once he reappears, repeat the process over again until he dies.

Black Mushroom

Reward: Spectral Elixir (+3 to all attributes)
Tip: On the ninth level, players should search for a patch of mushrooms. Pick the largest one, and return it to Adria. Players then need return to the ninth level, kill a demon and then return the demon's brain to Pepin to get the Spectral Elixir

Anvil of Fury

Reward: Griswold's Edge (Fire Hit 1 to 10, +25 to Hit, Faster attack, Knocks back monster, +20 to Mana, -20 to Hit Points)
Tip: The Anvil of Fury is randomly placed on the tenth level of the cathedral. If the anvil is returned to Griswold, he will create a powerful blade.

Warlord of Blood

Immunity: Fire, Lightning, and other Magic
Reward: Random magic item and access to the 14th level
Tip: The Warlord of Blood wears hellishly thick armor and is extremely resilient. Additionally, the Warlord of Blood is immune to fire, lightning and magic. The best method for the Sorcerer to use in battle is the Mana Shield and use a powerful weapon. All characters should lure the beast's followers away and destroy them before attacking the Warlord.

Lachdanan

Reward: Veil of Steel (+50% to Resist All, +60% to Armor Class, -30 to Mana, +15 to Strength, +15 to Vitality, -20% to Light Radius
Tip: You do not fight Lachdanan, but instead bring him the Golden Elixir found on the 15th level to get the Veil of Steel. The elixir is sometimes difficult to find. Be sure to carefully examine all areas on the level.

Demons dwell on the streets at night, and horrible screams disturb the troubled sleep of the citizens as forces of Darkness gather in the dungeons below the town. As if the situation isn't worse enough, the once righteous King Leoric has fallen into madness and was killed by his own men. His son, Prince Albrecht, and the Arch-Bishop Lazarus have mysteriously disappeared.

You, as a fierce Warrior, stealthy Rogue or wise Sorceror, enter the town of Tristram as to solve this mystery and defeat Diablo. On your way to depths of Hell, you'll encounter many monsters, magically-enchanted items, equipment, and treasures as well as powerful spells and magic. You'll definitely need all the help you can get. Diablo plans to dominant the world without failure.

HOW IT BEGINS

Since the Beginning, an eternal war has been engaged between the forces of Heaven and Hell: The Great Conflict, which yet remains unsolved. For centuries, the battles raged from the High Heavens to the arcane Hellforge, yet neither side could gain domination over the other for long. Both factions sought some way to turn the tides of the war to their favor, until the ascension of Man and his mortal realm happened. At that point, the Great Conflict ground to a mysterious halt and the battle once fierce in the divine world, descended down to the mortal realm of Man. The Sin War had began.

Both Angels and Demons anxiously tried to get into the favor of Man, yet the battle remained unsolved. Many powerful mortals were driven into the ensuing battles and become true legends of all times, for both the sides of good and evil.

During the Sin War, a great revolution began in Hell, as the Lesser Four, frustrated by the unsolved Great Conflict, tried to overthrow the Prime Evils and take control of Hell for themselves. Hell raged as the Great Evils battled against each other, but eventually the Lesser Evils reclaimed victory. Mephisto, Baal and Diablo, weakened and bodiless, were banished to the mortal realm where the Lesser Evils hoped that they would remain trapped forever. Under the new order, the hordes of Hell ran into a great civil war as the Lesser Evils forgot their pact against the Great Evils and argued which of them held the highest authority and these battles have lasted to this day.

On the mortal realm, the banished Prime Evils wandered through the waking world and ravaged the lands of the Far East with terror and chaos for centuries. Eventually, a secret order of mortal magi, Order Horadrim, was gathered by the Arch-Angel Tyrael. These sorcerers from numerous mage-clans of the East, were to hunt the Three Evils and put an end to their vicious rampage. They were victorious and managed to trap two of the Three Evils within magical artifacts called Soulstones, but the Horadrim were unable to locate the last of the Three, Diablo.

Decades after, they managed to capture the Lord of Terror as well, and the Soulstone was buried deep down in catacombs of a great Monastery which the Horadrim constructed after the victory. Ages passed, the Sin War was forgotten, and slowly the numbers of the Horadrim dwindled. Eventually, the great Monastery fell to ruins as well, and the secret of the Soulstone was forgotten.

Years after the last of the Horadrim had died and a small city of Tristram had grown up near the once great Monastery, a great northern lord Leoric came unto the lands of Khanduras and declared himself King. With his trusted advisor, Arch Bishop Lazarus, Leoric made his way to the city of Tristram and appropriated the ancient Monastery for his seat of power. Years passed and the people of Khanduras grew to respect the kind Leoric, but a power long asleep awakened within the dark recesses beneath the Monastery. Diablo, still captured in the Soulstone, sensed that his freedom was within his grasp and entered the nightmares of Arch Bishop Lazarus and lured him to the subterranean labyrinth. Lazarus shattered the Soulstone and Diablo once again dwelled in the world of Man. Weakened by the long sleep, the Lord of Terror required an anchor to the world - a body of a powerful mortal was needed, so that Diablo could begin to reclaim his vastly depleted power. Diablo choose to take the strongest of them - that of the righteous King Leoric.

Years passed and Leoric fought against the evil presence that twisted his thoughts and emotions. Although driven to the madness, Leoric was able to resist the evil presence of Diablo and thus the Lord of Terror was unable to reclaim Leoric's body as his own. Leaving Leoric as a corrupted and twisted shadow of his former self, Diablo choose an another victim, Leoric's only son Albrecht. The weak mind of the young boy was easily possessed by Diablo, and the Lord of Terror altered Albrecht's body to match that of his demonic body.

After noticing that his beloved son had disappeared, Leoric lost his sanity and was slain by his own priests and guards, lead by Lachdanan, Captain of the Knights of The Order of Light, as the terrified men realized that Leoric was beyond salvation.

As the king was dead, the young Albrecht still missing and the proud defenders of Khanduras were no more, the people of Tristram were dismayed. They soon realized that their troubles had merely begun as strange and eerie lights appeared in the darkened windows of the Monastery and misshapen creatures were seen venturing forth from the shadows of the church. Horrible cries infested the wind and obviously something quite unnatural had infested the once holy monument.

Deep beneath the foundations of the ruined Monastery, a ancient evil had began to harness his depleted power. The Lord of Terror, Diablo, welcomed the shadows and smiled to himself in the sheltering darkness as he dreamed of his final victory that was fast approaching.
Until, one day, a lonely traveler arrived to the town of Tristram...
